bird flu hype?
does anybody else think the fear is overblown? everyone expects it to be the doomsday plague that'll kill millions. in truth, like 60 people died from it. worldwide. ever.

A lot of it is hype. Is "pandemic" a common word? I really didn't know what it meant exactly. According to Wiki, it's another word for "global epidemic." I heard a news report about Bird Flu, the "global pandemic" so already the terminology is being misused leading me to believe that yes, a lot of it is hype and paranoia. And could it be more obvious that Bush is using it as a diversion for his other woes? It's like Iraq, Katrina, Karl Rove, Supreme Court....HEY LOOK! I'll protect us from this killer pandemic!!
