terrorist titles
i'm getting sick of headlines exaggerating the sohpistication of terrorists. i'm talking about titles like, "al qaeda weapons expert", or "terror mastermind". weapons expert? what's that, the guy who supplies the utility knives? and the guy who sends off suicide bombers. how's he a mastermind?
recently i read about this so-called tailor of death, a terrorist figure who supposedly "designed" the suicide vest.
ooo... he sewed pockets into a jacket. he's gotta be really elite. it's no wonder the authorities can't identify him.
i think in the past we were just lucky that terrorists were complete morons who detonated bombs while making it and stuff. and i really miss the headlines like "suicide bomber kills self, injures 1". today, they screw up less. that's all. masterminds my ass.

It's not all in the past, Charles. Here's an exerpt from a blog of the most unlikely source: Mick Foley(aka, Cactus Jack, Mankind, Dude Love) from the WWE's visit to Afghanistan:
"The detainee had apparently been making an improvised explosive device (generally referred to as “I.E.D”) which exploded and blew off both of his hands. The wounded detainee then showed up at the gates of Bagram asking for help from the same Americans whose lives he would have gladly ended."
