Insipid and juvenile
I saw a video for "My Humps" by the Black Eyed Peas the other night.
That has got to be the worst song ever. Its sheer lousiness has left me speechless. I'd rather watch a 24-hour Josh Groban marathon.

if you like music videos, a friend of mine introduced me to this DVD collection. it features works by spike jonze, michel gondry, and chris cunningham. i saw the michel gondry DVD and it blew me away. i remember thinking, "wow. these are heads and shoulders above your average music video. this is real art."
these DVDs came out a couple of years ago and i saw them probably a few months after their release. they became pretty successful so the makers have now released another collection. (works of 4 other famous directors) i can't speak for all the DVDs in the series but the michel gondry one is really awesome.
Although I've never seen the video for this one (y'know me over here with no MuchMusic and all), I have heard the song on the radio and I agree with you wholeheartedly. If it is any way related to the lyrics, I can't imagine that the video for this would be any good.
Here's where I bust out my old fogey voice, but overall, I'm really not impressed with what has become of what passes for R&B/Hip Hop music these days. It all seems so uninspired, mass produced and panders to the lowest common denominator. What happened to ths soul and message of the music. Where's the relevance? I miss the old stuff.
I heard "Gangsters Paradise" again the other day and I'm thinking, "what happened to stuff like this?" I mean 2-Pac was a straight up wild man and gangster, but at least he acknowledged that its a crazy lifestyle and that very few survive it, unlike say, 50Cent and his boys in G-G-G-G-G-Grown-men-acting-like-monkeys.
