VOIP

So I'd like to recommend Voip Buster. It's PC-based VOIP software that works on a pre-paid basis. Basically you pay 10 euros(it's a european company) and for 120 days you get access to their low long distance prices which include free calls to a number of popular countries such as Canada, America and Japan(landlines). Airtime is for all intents and purposes, unlimited.

Recently they instated "Direct Call" which allows you to use your landline or cellphone to place the outgoing call(rather than a mic on your PC).

It all came together yesterday when I needed to call my brother to plan some stuff for a trip. I was at my parent's place and had my laptop, used Voip Buster's direct call feature to use my parent's landline to call my brother...talked for about 2 hours absolutely free and swapped urls and stuff in realtime over Google talk. It was like a technological holy moment. Presumably I could have also been at my apartment, used my cell as the "direct call" line AND conferenced in my parents who also needed to be on the call. All for free!

Even more presumably, I could be in Singapore with my laptop and use a local landline to call, say, Spain for free because both those countries are on the free list.

What an age we live in...
