Cosmic Event

As an on-again, off-again astronomy enthusiast, I have great conflict within me, to put it in Star Wars terms. First, I'm lazy, so I don't like having to drive out to where there's dark sky. Secondly, I'm cheap so I don't like having to drive out to where there's dark sky. Third, I live at Yonge and Finch where apparently we're digging in for a siege, as condo buildings continute to be erected all around me, further blocking my already crappy 7th floor view. And finally, the weather's been crap lately and as I'm sure all the top astronomers say..."how'm I supposed to see nothin' with these freakin' clouds all up in my face?"

Nonetheless a few minutes ago I got a bit of a treat. According to my set Firefox default homepage: "On Saturday evening, Jan. 20th, Venus and the crescent Moon will gather together for a beautiful close encounter in the twilight glow of the setting sun. Don't miss it!"

Which is all a roundabout way of saying I'm posting more lousy camera shots from my window.
